Students must know their results before applying for the JEE Main online counselling. Follow the steps listed below to download the JEE Main result:

·         Visit the official NTA website- jeemain.nta.nic.in

·         Now enter your details, such as application number, date of birth and the given security code.

JoSAA Counselling Procedure

JoSAA or Joint Seat Allocation Authority manages the JEE Main counselling sessions. Only those candidates who qualify for the JEE Main exam cutoff scores will be allowed to sit for the JEE Main counselling. This counselling session is very important for admission into NITs and other colleges, except for ISM and IITs.

 

The counselling of JEE Main 2023 is expected to be held in the month of July-August 2023 and will be held online.

Candidates must be careful while registering for the JEE Main counselling as even a little carelessness or mistake can lead to their seat being withdrawn. Therefore, candidates should follow these steps for the JEE Main counselling session.

Step 1: The Registration Process

The first step is to register online for the counselling session. This is important so that students can opt for their choice of branches and colleges. Follow the below-mentioned steps to register for the JEE Main counselling session:

·         Visit the official NTA website.

·         Enter Your Roll No & Password.

·         Select the Login button.

·         After you have gone through the instructions carefully, click on the “I Agree” option.

·         The JoSAA Registration form will be displayed on the screen.

·         Fill in all the details in the form carefully.

·         Select the declaration option.

·         And then click on the Submit option.

·         Make sure the information you filled in is correct.

·         In the final step, click the Confirm Registration option.


Step 2: Option Entry for Counselling

The next step requires students to fill out details regarding their institute’s choice and its branches. Candidates should follow the below-listed steps to register their choices:

·         Select the “Choice Available” option.

·         Select the following- Institute Type, Name of Institute and Academic Programme or course.

·         The next step involves selecting the “Choice Filling and Locking” option.

·         Candidates can select the colleges and courses according to their preferences.

·         Candidates should fill in the maximum possible choices of colleges for allotment.

·         Candidates should remember to arrange the filled choices in decreasing order of preference.

·         If candidates want to change one of their already-selected choices, they can click on the “Choice Interchange” option.

·         The next step involves clicking on the “Choice Rearrange” option.

·         Before submitting their final choices, candidates should remember to arrange the options in descending order of their preferences,

·         Click on the “Save” option.

·         If a candidate wants to delete the choices, he/she can select the “Multiple Deletion” option.

Candidates are required to lock or save the choices before the deadline. This can be done by clicking on the option “Lock Choice.” Candidates must remember that the choices once locked cannot be changed. Choice locking option is there for each subsequent round of JEE Main counselling.

Step 3: JEE Main Counselling Allotment of Seat

·         Candidates will be informed of their seat allotment through an SMS or email.

·         Candidates should download the seat allotment letter after they fill out the choices.

·         JoSAA considers several factors before allotting seats to candidates. These are: The category a candidate belongs to – General, OBC-NCL, ST, etc.

·         A candidate’s AIR or All India Rank in the JEE Main exam.

·         The number of seats available in each institute

·         The choice that has been opted for by a candidate.


Step 4: Paying the JEE Main Counselling Fee

·         Before the main counselling process can begin, students need to pay the acceptance fee.

·         Candidates can easily deposit the fee amount through the SBI Net Banking/e-Challan.

The seat acceptance fee for students belonging to the general category is INR 25,000. The seat acceptance fee for students belonging to reserved categories is INR 15,000. After the candidates have completed these steps, they will be called to the reporting centre. They must carry their documents to the reporting centre for the document verification process. It is through this process that they will be allotted provisional seats in the colleges. Once all that is covered, a provisional admission letter will be delivered to the candidates.

Step 5: Reporting at the Allotted Institution

Candidates will be asked to report to the allotted institute and bring along the above-listed documents to begin the admission process.
